Stripping Process

The stripping process employed by Alistrip utilises our proprietary solution, "Neutrastrip," to dissolve paint or powder coatings. This involves a chemical reaction with the coating's primary binder, adhering to the fundamental rules of chemical processes. Following the chemical stripping, a thorough water-blasting step is essential to eliminate any remnants of the coating and the stripping solution from the metal. The effectiveness of this procedure is significantly influenced by factors such as the ambient temperature and the volume of coating that needs removal.

"Neutrastrip" is engineered to operate optimally at room temperatures ranging from 15 to 18°C. Should the temperature of the bath fall below this range, the reaction rate diminishes, leading to extended stripping durations.

Why Alistrip?

Stripping metal of its existing paint before applying a new finish is crucial for ensuring the longevity and quality of the new coating. Old paint can contain imperfections such as cracks, peeling, or bubbles that can undermine the adhesion of the new finish, leading to a less durable and aesthetically pleasing result. Additionally, removing the old layers provides a smooth and clean surface, which is essential for the new paint to adhere properly and evenly. This process helps prevent future corrosion, ensures a uniform application of the new coating, and ultimately extends the lifespan of the metal object. Stripping old paint is therefore a fundamental step in the refinishing process that contributes significantly to achieving a professional and lasting finish.
